Stearns & Foster presently offers several sleep sets. These range from the entry level Traditional Mattress to the upscale Golden Elegance Mattress that includes materials such as cashmere, merino wool and Mongolian horsehair. [REF Stearns & Foster Mattress Reviews 2010]
The three sleep sets currently available from Stearns & Foster include:
- Traditional
- Silver Dream
- Golden Elegance
The Traditional starts at about 1200USD and depending on the options can go up to about 1500USD. The Silver Dream is a significant step up, starting at about 3000USD. Their top of the line mattress, the Golden Elegance, starts at approximately 4000USD. These prices are all based on a Queen sized mattress and (according to the Canadian Stearns & Foster site) the mattresses are available in Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King.
The Traditional
The Traditional comes in two different options. The basic option has:
- Silk-infused fabric
- Variable Response Technology (according to Stearns and Foster this involves using new proprietary cushioning materials that provide relief on your shoulders, hips and knees)
- The mattress coils are individually wrapped (like the pocketed coils in a Simmons Beautyrest).
- Durable LTD Foundation box spring.
The more expensive option has:
- Micro-suede, cashmere knit fabrics, and Stearns and Foster embroidery
- Variable Response Technology (according to Stearns and Foster this involves using new proprietary cushioning materials that provide relief on your shoulders, hips and knees.)
- The mattress coils use the “Intellicoil” concept that is essentially a spring inside a spring. According to Stearns and Foster this approach allows the outer spring to conform to and cradle the body while the support is managed by the inner spring. Each spring inside a spring is individually wrapped.
- A peak-a-boo fabric is added to the LTD foundation box spring.
The Stearns and Foster Traditional mattress also has the option to add additional layers of memory foam or latex foam. The warranty on the Traditional mattress is 10 years.

The Silver Dream
The Stearns and Foster Silver Dream Mattress is a step up in luxury from the Traditional Mattress. It comes with the following features:
- The mattress coils use the “Intellicoil” design that is essentially a spring inside a spring. According to Stearns and Foster this approach allows the outer spring to conform to and cradle the body while the support is managed by the inner spring. Each spring inside a spring is individually wrapped.
- New Zealand Joma wool for comfort and insulation
- 2 inches of natural latex for support (also hypoallergenic)
- Cashmere infused woven fabric and cotton/wool blend

The Golden Elegance
The Golden Elegance is Stearns and Fosters top of the line mattress. It has the following features:
- Like the Silver Dream and the more expensive version of the Traditional, the Golden Elegance mattress coils use the “Intellicoil” design that is essentially a spring inside a spring. According to Stearns and Foster this approach allows the outer spring to conform to and cradle the body while the support is managed by the inner spring. Each spring inside a spring is individually wrapped.
- New Zealand Joma wool for comfort and insulation
- 3 inches of natural latex for support (also hypoallergenic)
- White cashmere/ white wool blend
- Cashmere/silk/ merino wool infused woven fabric
- Mongolian horsehair
- 10 year warranty

NOTE: In the very recent past Stearns and Foster offered their mattresses in a number of different comfort levels. Typically:

There seems to be substantial changes occurring on the Sealy/Stearns and Foster sites and it is no longer clear if the above comfort options continue to be available (it is likely but we have not yet confirmed). Additionally the mattresses were available from 13.5 inches in height to 16.75 inches in height, and box springs were available from 5 inches in height to 9 inches. Much of this Stearns and Foster information seems to have very recently disappeared.
There appears to have been a significant effort to limit information about these mattresses on the new Sealy site (as opposed to the old Stearns & Foster site). Perhaps this is part of a larger marketing strategy (maybe to get potential buyers out to a retailer in order to fully understand their options or to get some clarity).
