There are three different LUCID by LinenSpa Memory Foam Mattresses and they are available through Amazon. All mattresses are getting great consumer ratings and the 8 and 10 inch versions are firm while the 12 inch version is plush. The LUCID memory foam mattresses are quite popular and each one uses different thicknesses and types of foam.  The different foams used include 4 lbs/ft plush memory foam, 3 lbs/ft memory foam, and high density foam. 

There are presently three different thicknesses of mattress available – 8 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch and their construction is shown below: 

8 inch
- 2” top layer of 3 lbs/ft density memory foam
- 6” base layer of high density foam

10 inch
- 2.5” top layer of 3 lbs/ft density memory foam
- 7.5” base layer of high density foam
 

12 inch
- 2” top layer of 4 lbs/ft density plush memory foam
- 2” middle layer of 3 lbs/ft density memory foam
- 8” base layer of high density foam

Memory foam mattresses are popular because they mould to your body shape and retain that shape to provide support where your body needs it most. Unlike a hard mattress, they do not stiffen joints but instead ensure that the joints are correctly aligned and supported.

The LUCID memory foam mattresses are naturally antimicrobial and use open cell technology.  Open cell technology allows air to flow through the foam and helps the mattress stay cool.   A zippered velour cover is included with each mattress.  The cover, like the mattress, is antimicrobial and it can also be removed for washing.  All three LUCID by LinenSpa memory foam mattresses carry a lengthy 20-year warranty.

8/10 Inch Mattresses
Both the 8 inch and 10 inch mattresses are firm and consumer comments are very similar for both.  Common likes and dislikes are recorded below:

PROS
- Very comfortable
- Firm and supportive
- Owners are happy with the low price
- Very limited motion transfer (from one person to another)
- Consumers report more pain-free and refreshed sleep

CONS
- Has a paint-like odor when first unpacked
- Some folks indicate it is heavier than they expected

Many owners report a reduction in joint pains and back pains after sleeping on their LUCID memory foam mattress.  Owners also often mention feeling more refreshed in the morning.  These findings are not uncommon with many memory foam mattresses and aren’t necessarily unique to this brand. 
 
The mattresses are shipped vacuum-packed and consumers report that they can take up to 24 hours to fully expand after they are unpacked.  After unpacking the mattresses also give off a “chemical” smell.  Some people indicate it is a faint odor that quickly dissipates but others describe a stronger odor that can take a few days to disappear.

Both the 8 inch and 10 inch mattresses are “Firm” and many consumers like the level of support these provide, however there are comments from some people indicating the mattresses are too firm for their liking.  In some cases owners have added a mattress topper to add some “plushness”.
 
As mentioned, the mattresses use open cell technology to help with cooling and indeed some consumers feel that they do sleep cool, but there are also comments that they can be too hot.  When it comes to comfort, one often sees this kind of thing with a memory foam mattress – one person feels it is too firm, while another feels it provides just the right amount of support, someone else feels it is too hot while others feel it sleeps cool.  Satisfaction with these kinds of features are often a function of the individual.  Having said that, if there are many reports of a particular issue then these bear further scrutiny.
 
12 Inch Mattress
The 12 inch mattress is "Plush" and uses 3 layers of foam (as opposed to 2).  Common owner likes and dislikes are recorded below:

PROS
- Inexpensive compared to many other memory foam mattresses
- Very limited transfer of motion from one person to another
- Includes nice bamboo mattress cover
- Softer than the 8” and 10” firm versions of the mattress

CONS
- Has odor upon opening (but dissipates)
- Most folks report that it only expands to about 11.5 inches
- A little heavy
