NovaForm memory foam mattresses are very popular but online information is somewhat limited. Nevertheless we have dug up enough to get a reasonably coherent picture of these mattresses. NovaForm is manufactured by Sleep Innovations and consumer ratings are quite good. There are two popular NovaForm mattress models commonly found on sites like Amazon and Costco and these include the NovaForm Pure Comfort and the NovaForm Gel. [REF Sleep Innovations Mattress Reviews]
The NovaForm Pure Comfort uses high quality memory foam called NutraTemp which is temperature neutral. Many consumers complain about memory foam mattresses sleeping hot so a number of manufacturers create memory foam with cooling capabilities/features to address this concern.
The NovaForm Gel uses memory foam infused with gel beads. There is little useful information about why gel beads are helpful in memory foam (besides the usual marketing noise) but the general gist seems to be that gel beads gather in areas of higher pressure thereby providing extra support where needed. Also, the gel is supposed to help increase airflow removing extra heat and creating a cooler sleeping mattress.
Like most memory foam mattresses the NovaForm mattresses are compressed before being packaged and shipped and they take some time, after unpacking, to expand to their full size.
NovaForm Pure Comfort Mattress
This is a 12 inch thick mattress comprised of a 2.5 inch layer of NutraTemp memory foam (on top) followed by a 9.5 inch base layer of support foam. The mattress comes with a fire retardant jacquard cover that is non-removable (so it can’t be taken off and washed). The NutraTemp memory foam is marketed as being temperature neutral and this is a function of enhanced air flow capabilities. The mattress itself also meets federal flammability standards and is made in the USA. These mattresses are not particularly light and a King Size NovaForm Pure Comfort mattress weighs about 110 lbs. They also carry a 20 year warranty.
Consumer ratings for the NovaForm Pure Comfort Queen Mattress are provided in the table below and indicate that owners are fairly pleased with their purchase. Although it should be noted that only a limited number of consumer ratings were found.
